Ingredients

Thoughtfully selected. Simply made.

Our skincare brings together grass-fed beef tallow and thoughtfully selected ingredients, handcrafted in small batches. Meet the ingredients in our range and learn how they can contribute to softer, moisturized skin.

Grass-fed beef tallow

A rich, conditioning base. Grass-fed beef tallow forms the rich base of our creams, balms, and body butter. As an emollient, it helps soften and smooth dry-feeling skin.

Jojoba oil

Softness and moisture support. Jojoba is a liquid wax used as an emollient to leave skin feeling smoother and more supple. Research on topical oils, including jojoba, found increased water content within parts of the skin’s outer layer, supporting its role in moisturizing skincare.

Beeswax

Helps hold moisture in. Beeswax adds body to balms and forms a surface film that can help limit moisture loss. Research on beeswax-containing creams supports its use in formulations designed to help keep skin from drying out.

Mango butter

Rich emollient care. Mango butter is a plant-based butter that helps soften and smooth rough, dry-feeling skin. Early research on a mango-butter foot cream supports its potential as an emollient, though the study involved a complete formula and does not establish the effects of mango butter alone.

Manuka honey

A honey with a New Zealand connection. New Zealand mānuka honey is made by bees collecting nectar from the mānuka plant (Leptospermum scoparium).

Moisture-attracting sugars. Honey acts as a humectant, meaning it helps attract and retain water. Studies of honey-containing creams show potential to improve skin hydration and help skin feel softer. Those results concern honey formulations generally and are not proof that manuka honey, or our body butter, will deliver the same results.

We pair manuka honey with mango butter in our Manuka Honey & Mango Body Butter.

Vitamin E

Antioxidant care. Vitamin E is an antioxidant naturally found in skin. Research on a vitamin E-containing cleanser found reduced oxidation of skin-surface lipids, supporting its role in antioxidant skincare. Benefits depend on the form of vitamin E and the complete formula; this does not establish the same effects for our products.

Other botanical ingredients

Botanical ingredients vary by product and scent. Their benefits depend on the specific plant, extract, concentration, and complete formula, so we do not assign one blanket benefit to all botanicals. Check your chosen product’s ingredient list for details.

Find the right formula for your routine

This guide describes ingredient properties and published research, not clinical testing of Moo & Mangrove products. Ingredients vary across our range. Our products are cosmetics for everyday skin care, not treatments for eczema, acne, infections, or wounds.

Refer to the individual product description and packaging for the full ingredient list. Try a small amount on a small area first and stop use if irritation occurs. If you have a known ingredient allergy or a question about a formula, contact us before choosing your product.
